Thank you, Wall!
As many of you know, this week is my last full week serving as the Executive Director of the Wall Economic Development Corporation. Although it was a difficult decision to leave, I am excited for the next step in my life.
Serving the Wall community as the first economic development director has been an incredible honor. I have had an amazing opportunity to get to know Wall in a whole new way. I created valuable relationships with community members, business owners and statewide resources. I will value and continue to cultivate these connections throughout my life.
I am grateful to have had a chance to help make Wall an even better place to live, work and raise a family. I would like to thank the Wall City Council for believing in WEDC and me, the WEDC Board of Directors for signing up for a brand new adventure and providing strong leadership and the Wall community for supporting WEDC as we tested new ideas.
I am honored to have been part of bringing new events, community engagement, and development projects to Wall, including: the Home for the Holidays campaign, Wall in the Fall, the Wall Crawl, Marketing Hometown America, the Wall Field of Films, Coffee and Calendars, and the Mailbox Project. Alongside the City Council and WEDC Board of Directors, we have created housing development and demolition incentives. We started providing available lots for housing redevelopment and helped create opportunities for entrepreneurs to start and expand their businesses.
Thank you to everyone who offered advice, encouragement, support and time the past three years. WEDC has a strong board of directors. They are well prepared to continue the progress WEDC has made throughout the past three years. WEDC will continue to implement its strategic plan under the leadership of the new executive director, Liliya Stone, who will do a wonderful job for Wall.
Thank you for everything, Wall.
Sincerely,
Cheyenne McGriff
Hello, Wall!
My name is Liliya Stone and I would like to take a moment to introduce myself as a new Director of Economic Development department. As you may know wasn’t born or raised here, however I have lived here for the past 8 years. I chose to live and raise my children in Wall because of its safe and stable environment, as well as great community that I am very excited to be a part of.
Prior to being employed by the City of Wall I was the general manager at the Cactus Cafe & Lounge. I believe that my academic background in Economics, experience in budget management, as well as interest in working together with the community will be beneficial to the City of Wall.
I genuinely look forward to having the opportunity to meet you in person, and am excited about the projects we will be working on together in the future. Please feel free to stop by my office any time, if you have any questions or would just like to meet in person.
Sincerely,
Liliya Stone
Executive Director
