Comprehensive program designed to empower next generation of local leaders begins October 2025
Wall, SD – The Wall Leadership Development Program is proud to announce the launch of its inaugural six-month leadership development initiative, designed to cultivate the next generation of community leaders across South Dakota. Running from October 2025 through April 2026, this comprehensive program offers emerging leaders the skills, confidence, and connections needed to make a meaningful impact in their communities and professions.

Program Highlights
The program features six intensive monthly sessions, each focusing on critical leadership
competencies:
Leadership Foundations & Self-Assessment (October 6th) – Participants will discover their personal leadership style and build confidence through guided assessment with instructor Mike Henke.
Local & State Government Leadership (November 5th) – Led by Mike Bockorny from SD EDPA, Garth Wadsworth from Elevate, and local city council members, this session teaches effective advocacy, legislative navigation, and civic engagement strategies.
Agriculture Leadership (January) – Participants will learn from successful agricultural leaders, develop rural communication skills, and build action plans for leadership in agriculture-related roles.
Professional Development & Public Speaking (February) – This session focuses on workplace trends, career advancement, networking skills, and presentation mastery with coaching and feedback opportunities.
Community & Nonprofit Leadership (March) – Covering community needs assessment, board service, nonprofit governance, and volunteer engagement strategies.
Graduation Celebration (April) – A certificate ceremony featuring final presentations, dinner, and networking reception with family, friends, and fellow leaders.
Special Opportunities
Program participants will have access to two exclusive experiences:
- An optional day at the South Dakota Legislature in Pierre
- A “Day of Excellence” trip to Rapid City

- Class Time: 5:30 PM (No class scheduled in December)
- Registration Deadline: September 12th Cost: $100 for members, $150 for non-members, $25 for students
