Badlands Bad River Regional Economic Development
Wall is also a member of a regional collaborative economic development group called “SET” which stands for “Stronger Economies Together” Officially the group is named the Badlands/Bad River Regional Economic Development Partnership. The SET program was started by USDA Rural Development in collaboration with the Regional Rural Development Centers (RRDC). The purpose is to enhance the capacity of rural communities to work together in developing and implementing economic development in the region. As a member of this organization, Wall has the ability to tap into the many resources USDA has to offer including but not limited to grant monies that may be used to enhance or attract business opportunities or to assist in developing areas in order to make the community or region more attractive to prospective businesses, for example an industrial park. It should be noted that the Badlands/Bad River Regional Economic Development Partnership recently received the designation of a “High Quality Plan” which at the time, made it only the 4thplan in the United States to receive this designation.
