Phase 1 of the new Wall Industrial Park is now complete and businesses can apply for a space. Infrastructure projects for six lots were completed and each lot is available for businesses to stake their claim.

The Wall Economic Development Corporation and the Wall City Council broke ground on Phase 1 of the Wall Industrial Park in May of last year. The Underground Construction, LLC team signed on to complete the work needed for electricity, utilities, water, and sewer, which included digging out trenches for lift stations, an essential for quality wastewater infrastructure. The six available lots now have access to water, sewer, electricity, and fiber optic.

The 85-acre park has a total of 18 lots. Upon completion, it will be the only Certified Light Industrial Park located in Western South Dakota. Most of the land will be used for manufacturing, processing, packaging, distribution, fabrication, bioscience, and other industries. The park will be well-suited for specific types of companies including but not limited to animal hospitals and kennels, engineering firms, meat processing plants, biotech companies, wholesale distributors, precision Ag and value-added Ag-based operations, and repair shops. With light industrial use, the noise, radiation, dust, and odor that these businesses produce will be limited and confined.

Perks of a Wall Industrial Park Location for Your Business

The staff at the Wall Economic Development Corporation would love to see companies old and new in the Wall Industrial Park. If your business is planning to expand or relocate, this is a perfect spot for you.

The park not only has space available, but it also has natural resources that your company can take advantage of. Wall Industrial Park property investments may be qualified for tax incentives such as a potential tax break for up to five years on new industrial and commercial buildings.

Those who have relocated to Wall enjoy the city’s affordability with the low cost of living and low utility rates. Coming home every day to a family-friendly atmosphere is an added bonus.

The Wall Economic Development Corporation is happy to negotiate lot prices with interested parties. Information on how to get started is provided below.

How to Apply for a Space

In order to move your business into its new space, you will be provided with the Wall Industrial Park Buyer Guide. From there, you can fill out the application, then submit it to the Wall Economic Development Corporation’s Executive Director. After the Industrial Park Committee reviews your application, the Wall Economic Development Corporation Board of Directors will decide whether it is approved or disapproved.

Upon approval, a City Finance Officer will then be in charge of filling out the paperwork to transfer the land. You should then secure permits from the City of Wall and the Federal Aviation Administration for the following: building, conditional use, odor, noise, and utility service. The City of Wall forms can be found online and the Federal Aviation Administration Obstruction Evaluation Guidelines are also available.

If you have any questions about purchasing a lot, please feel free to connect with our staff at the Wall Economic Development Corporation. We can be reached at walledd@gwtc.net or at (605) 279-2658.
