As Wall Economic Development Corporation (WEDC) looks ahead to the next decade, the organization remains firmly committed to its mission: to inspire action and ignite growth throughout the community. In 2026, WEDC will focus its efforts on business growth, program expansion, community development, airport advancement, and major community infrastructure projects—each aimed at strengthening Wall’s long-term vitality.
Business Growth Initiatives
WEDC will continue marketing and selling lots in the Industrial Park while creating opportunities for both existing and new businesses. Efforts will focus on positioning Wall as an attractive place to live, work, and invest, while supporting developers to increase workforce housing. WEDC will also continue networking with site selectors, developers, and leaders at the local, regional, and state levels to encourage sustainable growth.
Program Development
In 2026, WEDC plans to expand its Leadership Programs to help develop the next generation of community leaders. The organization will launch a Business Incubator Program in the Industrial Park to support entrepreneurs and startups and begin the Grow Fresh Program, producing year-round local food through partnerships with schools and community organizations. WEDC will also continue offering business education workshops focused on practical, real-world support.
Community Development
Community-focused initiatives will remain a priority. WEDC will grow the Mailbox Program to keep youth connected to Wall, continue Coffee Connect & Classes to foster community learning, and support new housing and infrastructure development. Collaboration with Western Dakota Tech, Wall School, and other partners will help bring adult education classes to town.
WEDC will also work closely with the Wall School District and the City of Wall to help develop a community event center that will serve both the school and the broader community. This facility would support year-round events, including conferences, tournaments, playoffs, games, performances, and shows, helping to attract visitors while enhancing local quality of life. The event center is expected to promote economic growth, improve community health and wellness, and provide new opportunities for connection and activity throughout the year.
Airport Development
WEDC will support expansion at the Wall Municipal Airport through new hangars, shuttle services, and improved fueling infrastructure. These improvements aim to position Wall’s airport as a regional hub for business and tourism.
Together, these initiatives reflect WEDC’s continued dedication to building a strong, healthy, and vibrant future for Wall and its residents.
